Real talk. Real advisors.

Short Takes is a video series featuring honest stories and tangible advice from groundbreaking advisors. The show, in its original format, was born from a pandemic-era need of motivation and inspiration for independent investment advisors. Through interviews conducted entirely over Zoom, Altruist’s Head of Community Dasarte Yarnway discusses with his guests their proven methods for growth, marketing, and client service in the ever-changing field of wealth management.

Altruist developed the series by repurposing the original long-form interviews into shorter, entertaining, easy-to-absorb cuts based on high-priority themes that advisors want and need to know.

As the lead designer on this project, I developed a comprehensive sub-brand including the animated title sequence and social media graphics. A little bit brutalist, a little bit fluxus, the look and feel for Short Takes captures the spirit of the independent advisor. The visuals rely heavily on typography, playing with character width and paragraph alignment as a visual representation of the brief nature of the content. Hand-drawn design elements reinforce Altruist’s commitment to the human advisor—as opposed to the robo-advisor.
